writing (internet)

Weaponizers: A Failed Experiment In Special Effects: A critical analysis of Discovery Channel's poorly-received series Weaponizers. (GatorAIDS, 2010)

The Boom Adapter (Revisited): A product review of a USB interface called the "Boom" adapter, a product made to allow use of Nintendo 64 controllers as PC joysticks. (GatorAIDS, 2010)

Nickellennium Retrospective - Part 1: Part one of a "10 Years After" retrospective of Nickelodeon's Nickellennium year 2000 celebration. (VitalViper.com, 2010)

The Problem With Pokemon: A lampooning of a religiously-charged "anti-Pokemon" broadcast from 1999. (VitalViper.com, 2010)

DragonPlay: Vaporware Lifetime Achievement Award: Reflections of the (short) time I spent on the development staff for this kid's MMO title that was never released. (VitalViper.com, 2009)

A Decade After Pokemon: The First Movie: A deviation from my normally humorous work to take a special look back at one of the most prominent movies of my childhood. (VitalViper.com, 2009)

Most Disorganized Website of 2009: Lockerz: My story of the trials and tribulations of trying to win "prizes" from the Lockerz.com website. (VitalViper.com, 2009)

UFC: Undisputed is Undisputedly the Gayest Game Ever: A look at the implied sexual insecurity fostered by certain aspects of the UFC: Undispited video game. Not as offensive as the title implies. (VitalViper.com, 2009)

Counterfeit Spyro the Dragon Posters: A retelling of an eBay Marketplace mishap between me and a Hong Kong-based seller of counterfeit video game character goods. (GatorAIDS, 2009)

Nintendo Powerless #1: Nintendo Powerless was a column I wanted to try out where I took a look back at old issues of Nintendo Power and took jabs at the 1980's and 1990's. (RFSHQ, 2008)

Review: Austin Powers - Oh, Behave! (GBC): A critical analysis of a terrible Windows 98 simulator (no kidding) released for the Game Boy Color (also no kidding). (RFSHQ, 2007)

Review: Robot Wars - Metal Mayhem (GBC): A review of one of the many games in the Robot Wars franchise, a popular UK TV series akin to BattleBots. (RFSHQ, 2007)

Review: GramesHos (Atari 2600): A fake review of a fake game for a satire website that had its sights focused on Infogrames at the time. I was given some guidelines to hit and wrote the article to their standards. (Atari 2600 Duds, 2005)

Review: The Adventures of Bayou Billy (NES): The very first review I wrote and posted online for a "large scale" website (RFSHQ). Included in my portfolio as a means to show the progress of my work. (RFSHQ, 2004)

games & interactive media

Let's Get Trivial!: An online trivia game where the game's compendium of questions are submitted entirely by players of the game. Utilizes the "user-created content" save feature on TrackMill.com. I created both the conceptual art and the final art for this game. (TrackMill Games LLC, TBA)

Steel Superstructure: A turn-based puzzle game where the object is to collect all of the "goal" pieces in each level. Utilizes the "user-created levels" save feature on TrackMill.com. I created the final artwork used in the released copy of the game. (TrackMill Games LLC, 2010)

Monster Trucks II: A racing game similar to the popular Trials Bike games where you control a monster truck and race through levels. I submitted some designs for trucks for this game, but due to a non-disclosure agreement I am not allowed to include them in my portfolio. (StimuNation Games, 2005)

etcetera

TrackMill Tracker: Functionality for the TrackMill.com website that encourages users to play more games and submit more content by offering profile badges and awards as incentives. (TrackMill Games LLC, TBA)

Miniclip.com Player's Channel: A section of the Miniclip website where users can earn "achievements" and badges for completing quests or high scores in many games. While I was not directly involved with the creation of this functionality in previous years I submitted numerous plans and ideas for consideration. (Miniclip Ltd, 2008)
